NBA 2K20 is a powerful player on the e-sports arena. There's the NBA 2K League that is in its third season. There's the Global Championship and also the MyTeam tournament that is in its second season. If you needed one more proof that MyTeam is rapidly growing and becoming a favorite mode, here it is.

The MyTeam Unlimited $250,000 Tournament is all about this beloved game mode. MyTeam players who enjoy the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are invited to join the tournament. Each player will select 13 cards from their deck. They will take part in 5 versus 5 head to head games that are played on MyTeam Unlimited mode. There will be multiple qualifier phases. Three of them are in the last three months of 2019 and the last one is in the first month of January.

Players have to win 10 matches to be eligible for the qualifiers. There are several days in which players must compete during a four hours window. Players get points for every win. They will advance in the tournament depending on how many points they have accumulated. The role of the qualifier events is to single out 32 participants. Half of them are PlayStation 4 players while the others are playing on Xbox One. These players will take part in the next phase which is a single-elimination tournament. It will be played on January 25th.

Two players will emerge victorious from the single-elimination tournament. The reward includes a trip to the NBA All-Star 2020 game. The All-Star match will take place in Chicago, Illinois. The date is February 13th. However, the organizers reserve the right to change the date and location. The two participants will get to see this great event live and also to compete for the grand prize of $250,000. The grand final is a best-of-three match and it is played on Xbox One. This last year's tournament was a success. There were more than one million participants. Players from all around the globe competed for a chance to win the grand prize and also for the glory.

Dymaris Jones aka “SkippTooMyLou” was the last year's champion. In the grand final, he went up against Christopher Anderson aka “TurnUpDefense”. Anderson is currently part of the NBA 2K League.
