NBA 2K20's life cycle is slowly coming to a close. However, we are not sad about it because the next game in the series, NBA 2K21, was officially announced. The info is coming slowly but steadily. First, we had a teaser during the PlayStation5 preview. The video features Zion Williamson. He is a rising star on the NBA scene. Williamson is 19 years old and he comes from North Carolina. He was just drafted last year. He was the first pick in the first round. Williamson plays for the New Orleans Pelicans. Although he just started his professional career, Williamson has shown great skills. He was selected to feature in the NBA 2K21 teaser trailer for a reason. The trailer showed some footage created with the new game engine. It looks great. As you can imagine, it doesn't show any gameplay but it reveals something new. NBA 2K21 will be available for the new PlayStation5. The second video features Ben Simmons. He is a player from Australia. Simmons started his professional career in 2016 alongside Philadelphia 76ers and he is still with this team. The trailer didn't include any game footage but it has plenty to have us hyped about it. The new game will feature next-gen graphics, load times, and power. While we all expected better graphics, it's still nice to get a glimpse of what the new game engine can do. NBA 2K21 is built for the next-gen consoles and it shows. Better loading times assure us that the game will run even faster. The next bit of info about the next NBA 2K game comes from social media. The team behind the game sent special packages to popular streamers and influencers. As you can probably guess, they uploaded the unboxing on their social media profiles. The package contains an invitation to the next reveal event. We will find out who the cover athlete is in July. The release date will be in September 2020. This is pretty much what we expected anyway, but there's one more date. NBA 2K Next Level is planned for holidays 2020. This is probably the release date for the game on next-gen consoles which are planned for release around that time. The box contained more but some of the words were crossed-out in black so we couldn't read them. From what we could figure, the game will come with improvements for several game modes, including the Neighborhood. More will be revealed in the following weeks.
